The first athlete of the Ski World Cup Dresden has arrived! 26-year-old Australian Jessica Yeaton landed at Dresden Airport today, Tuesday at 6:10 pm. The two-time Continental Cup winner was picked up in the ski world cup car, the Audi hybrid model e-tron, which was made available to the World Cup team by the Audi partners in Dresden.

Arriving at the World Cup hotel The Westin Bellevue, Jessica Yeaton was welcomed with a special surprise: In a poll initiated by the Ski World Cup Dresden and xc-ski. de, the Australian team won the overnight stays in the presidential suite of Westin Bellevues. This great surprise came about when the first placed German team (119 Likes) decided not to win the second place in Australia (40 Likes) as their hosts.

Quotes

Gerd Gebauer, Operations Manager of Autohaus Dresden Reick - Representative of the Audi partners in Dresden

"We are delighted to be a regional Audi partner at this high-calibre and so far unique sporting event in Dresden and would be delighted if it were to establish itself as a permanent institution in our beautiful city.

We were very happy when we learned how many fans voted for Team Saxony. It is a great motivation that we receive so much support in advance. However, it was immediately clear to our Saxons in the team that they wanted to live together with the rest of the team and above all want to be good hosts. That's why we are happy to forego our prize, so that the second-placed Australians can live like king for once - all the more so that Jessica Yeaton, the first female athlete to arrive, can enjoy the presidential suite starting from Tuesday!"!

Jessica Yeaton, Team Australia

"This is a great surprise - I've never had such a reception before. Crazy. I still can't understand that the presidential suite should be complete for me. This room is so huge! Dresden is already my favorite World Cup ever. This is just crazy - big thanks to the organizers!"
