Alpe Cermis Statistics:
Nine kilometers in free technique and slopes that approach 30%, with an average of 12%, 420 meters of height difference and the last 3.5 km all to be done looking up to the sky – this is the Final Climb of Alpe Cermis in Val di Fiemme (ITA). The final stage of the twelfth Tour de Ski on Sunday, together with the Mass Start of 10 and 15 km that will start tomorrow at 14:15 CET at the Cross Country Stadium in Lago di Tesero.
Dario Cologna is the favourite for the final success together with the Russian Ustiugov, whose condition is in doubt because of an annoying back pain, but who certainly will take part also because the stakes are very high, even from an economic point of view (a total of 40,636 euros for the winner).
Francesco De Fabiani will be able to compete with the others at the same level, confident after his brilliant third place in Oberstdorf (GER):"Tomorrow's race is my goal for the Tour de Ski, on which my participation in the Final Climb will also depend. The track is one of the hardest but also my favourite track from a technical point of view. I will do my utmost". In the ladies’ race the focus will be on Oestberg and Weng.
