China opens first indoor skiing tunnel

China's first indoor skiing tunnel facility

The city of Jilin, located in north east China has a brand new attraction for winter sport enthusiasts as it hosts the very first skiing tunnel of the country.

The tunnel has a total length of 1.3km indoor and 1.6km of outdoor track. With a width of 8 meters and a hight of 4m (of the indoor tunnel), the modern infrastructure represents a perfect location for teams and athletes for training. Throughout the year, the temperature remains at constantly -6°C.

Multiple Cross-Country and biathlon teams have already taken the tunnel under inspection and enjoy the brand new training facility and the first one of it's kind in China.
