Therese Johaug from Norway is a league of her own. She fully lived up to her role as favourite of the prestigious Holmenkollen 30km in Classic style and wins with 1:18:54.5.

Russian Natalia Nepryaeva remained on the hunt for Johaug but could just not keep up during the uphills despite the fast track. As a lone persecutor, Nepryaeva had to focus on keeping her speed up as the following group with Ebba Andersson, Charlotte Kalla, Ingvild Flugstad Østberg, Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen, Krista Pärmäkoski and Katharina Hennig followed up closely.

The group split during the second half whereas Andersson and Kalla remained in the lead, having Østberg and Jacobsen on their heel. At the ski exchange, Kalla passed through letting Jacobsen, Østberg and Andersson behind as they took the chance for the exchange.

Andersson and Østberg knew how to use their newly prepared machines to their favour and took off to decide the final spot on the podium. They did not manage to close the gap to Nepryaeva but fought until the finish line. Ebba Andersson claimed the last spot on the podium, 0.06 seconds before Ingvild Flugstad Østberg.
