Livigno (ITA) is heaven for Cross-Country Skiing, a unique location that allows cross-country skiers to devote themselves to their passion both in winter - from the first snowfall - and in summer, as evidenced by the Palio delle Contrade - 1K Shot. That’s an event for champions and amateurs that takes place in August thanks to the particular technique of "snowfarming".

The "Little Tibet" always arrives before the others, as evidenced by the 29th edition of the "Sgambeda" scheduled for Saturday, December 1st. The race is organised for amateurs and will also be the first stage of the Visma Ski Classics with two races scheduled for Friday, November 30th and Sunday, December 2nd. It will be a weekend of glory and enjoyment, in an apotheosis of three days of Cross-Country Skiing.

The Visma Ski Classics calendar has been unveiled; the great Cross-Country Skiing classics will start from Livigno with two races: the Pro Team Prologue of 15 km in classic technique and the Individual Prologue of 30 km, always in classic technique. But La Sgambeda is scheduled for Saturday, December 1st between the two competitions. La Sgambeda is a race in free technique dedicated to amateurs that will give the possibility to enjoy the first skiing of the season.

The entry fee for the Sgambeda is 50 EUR until October 14th. The first 1,000 will receive a race package and some gadgets. The services offered by the competition will include the expo area and its interesting products, technical and medical assistance, professional timing, bags room, refreshments both on the track and after the finish line, changing rooms, shuttle bus, showers, pasta party and medal ceremony. At the time of registration, each participant can also choose his/her starting group – the first group will see the most prepared athletes at the start, the second the athletes of good level and the third the least competitive.

The event in Livigno is the first of the three Visma Ski Classics stages that take place in Italy, a prestigious "launch" that confirms the "Little Tibet" at the top of the national sports movement, from swimming with Federica Pellegrini to the preparation of cross-country skiers starting from October. The arrival of the Italian team led by Federico Pellegrino is scheduled for October 20th thanks to the opening of the cross-country skiing trail on October 13th.
