One of the oldest skiing marathon’s, Tartu Maraton of Estonia takes place in three month’s time. Worshiping the golden times, the marathon will have a brand new discipline – Tartu Maraton Vintage.

As the event’s name says the Tartu Maraton Vintage is an opportunity to ski the legendary Tartu Maraton with an older equipment. Everyone with an equipment made before the year 2000 are expected to take part in the event. The older, the merrier!

„Today’s classic tracks are so narrow and it is hard and uncomfortable to ski on them with wooden skis. Thus we will make at least one track a lot wider where it is possible to ski with either classical old skis or with today’s Salomon’s,“ said Race Director Indrek Kelk.

Vintage-skiers will start along with the main distance’s (63 and 31 km) skiers. To gather the retroskiers, there will be a special start group for them.

To make it feel more old school, the Vintage-skiers will get a retro-looking start numbers and diploma. In addition, many cool raffle prizes will be given out to the participants.

The 46th Tartu Maraton will be held on the 17th of February. Registration HERE.
