The format of the mixed relay was played for the first time in a U23 World Championships. Two men and two men formed a team. The team from Norway was the winner, ahead of Russia and Italy.

The Norwegian team, consisting of Haavard Moseby, Harald Oestberg Amundsen, Hedda Oestberg Amundsen and Marte Maelhum Johansen, left the field in the wide starter group and kept their lead to the finish. The mixed team from Russia also managed to travel a small gap with the third starter Denis Filimonov knew how to defend their position. The team - which also included Hristina Matsokina, the already crowned world champion Sergey Ardashev and Nina Dubotolkina - won silver. The German team switched from third to fourth starter in third place and was then handed over to seventh place. Francesca Franchi, Anna Comarella, Simone Capra and Martin Coradazzi secured the third for Team Italy and Franchi left nothing on the last lap.

“I am very happy with our race right now. We had extremely good skis, which made the race pretty easy for us, ”says Harald Haavard Moseby (NOR) of the race. “I was able to hand over to my twin sister right after my run. It was a great experience for me, ”said Harald Oestberg AMUNDSEN about his sister Hedda. For Norway it is the sixth medal in the U23 World Cup.

Due to the strong performance of the Russian men, her last runner had an easy game and held second place to the finish. “It feels so great and we are a great team. I thank my colleagues who really gave their all today, ”she said when she reached the finish. But the third-placed Italians were also very happy about their medal: “The weather conditions were very changeable this week and unpredictable for our technicians. Today we had great material. We wanted to get our best performance in the first mixed relay of a U23 World Cup and we did that. ”
