A lonely race at the top led Ebba Andersson (SWE). She was victorious ahead of her teammates Moa Lundgren and Emma Ribom. For men, Harald Osterberg Amundsen became U23 world champion in the mass start over 30 kilometers. The gold medalist in the 15 km individual run Sergej Ardashev (RUS) finished second and the Norwegian Havaard Moseby also took the bronze medal closely behind.

After 3.5 km the world-class athlete Ebba Andersson (SWE) left the field. Over the laps, she continued to extend her lead and finished 37.1 seconds ahead of second-placed Moa Lundgren (SWE). “Winning the gold medal was something I really wanted to achieve. I'm very happy. Today I'm going to Oslo to take part in the 30 km World Cup race at Holmenkollen, ” said the winner Andersson.

Emma Ribom (SWE) formed the chasing group together with teammate Moa Lundgren and Frenchwoman Flora Dolci. The battle for the last two podium places was fought on the last climb. Lundgren took off from Ribom, making the triple victory perfect for Sweden. “It is so nice that we as a team made it onto the podium and were able to take gold, silver and bronze to Sweden. It's an incredible feeling and I'm very happy, ”says Lundgren. "I only realized in the last climb that the bronze medal is possible and then I gave everything and did it. The conditions were perfect today, but I'm pretty exhausted ”, Ribom adds about her third medal in this JWSC.

The men's mass start over 30 kilometers took a completely different course. Only on the last climb did the Norwegian Harald Oestberg Amundsen take off from Sergey Adrashev (RUS) and won the 30 kilometers in free technique with a time of 1'12.42h. Third place went to Haavard Moseby (NOR), who was able to stay in the leading group for a long time.

With the victory over 30 kilometers in the mass start, Amundsen is now taking an entire set of medals from Oberwiesenthal to Norway. After third place in the sprint and second place in the classic technique over 15 kilometers, he was crowned golden boy also in the mass start: “The race was tougher than I thought. The Russian was so strong that I couldn't break away. I was a little afraid that it would lead to a sprint to the finish ”.

This time Sergey Adrashev (RUS) was beaten by the Norwegian. In the individual two days ago he was ahead and became U23 world champion. “I am still very happy about the medal today. I was really well prepared. "

20-year-old Haavard Moseby (NOR) completes the podium. At the last World Championships in Lahti (FIN), he also finished second in the junior class over a 30 kilometer mass start. Now he seems to have arrived in the field of the U23 with today's bronze medal. “The medal in the U23 field means more to me than that in the junior class. It was a fast race from the start. You had to accelerate all the time, ”sums up the Norwegian.
