Let the snow begin! OC's ready to welcome the FIS Cross-Country family

The World Cup season is about to start in its traditional fashion up North in Ruka/Kuusamo, Finland. Early November snow ensured the organizers of the first period of the World Cup calendar smooth preparation of the events.
With the Ruka Triple, the FIS Cross-Country World Cup season 2019/20 will kick off with Sprint races in Classic technique on Friday, 29th November, followed by a 10/15km in Classic on Saturday, 30th November as well as a Pursuit race in Free technique on Sunday, 1st December.

Second stop on the FIS Cross-Country World Cup calendar is the famous norwegian winter resort of Lillahammer. As the weekend before in Finland, the entire Nordic World Cup family will meet up in Ruka for events in Cross-Country, Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping.
The courses in Lillehammer also got a load of fresh snow and are ready to tackle the World Cup event. The race programme awaits with a Skiathlon on Saturday, 7th December and a Relay on Sunday, 8th December.

The first stop in central Europe brings the FIS Cross-Country family to Davos in Switzerland. With a sprint as well as 10/15km in Free technique, the programme in the 1560m high winter resort is ready set for some spectacular racing on 14th and 15th December. The experienced Davos Nordic team has already been visited by some national teams as they are one of the first resorts offering a 4km snow farming course for early training sessions.
Davos Nordic has also set a number of side events, especially also giving children the chance of joining the fun of Cross-Country racing.

Shortly before the Christmas break, the FIS Cross-Country season will make a stop in the Slovenian resort of Planica for a Sprint weekend on 21st and 22nd December.
The winning organizers of the FIS World Snow Day Award 2019 are up for a World Cup weekend filled with Cross-Country fun for the whole family!

The opening spectacle of the FIS Tour de Ski 2019/20 will take place in Lenzerheide with a 10/15km in Free technique on Saturday, 28th December. On 30th December, a sprint in Free technique awaits before heading along the tour to Italy with the 100th race of a Tour de Ski on Friday, 3rd January 2020!
