Krista Pärmäkoski has signed a two-year extension agreement with her long-term partner, ski equipment manufacturer Madshus. Thus, Pärmäkoski will ski at Madshus surely at the World Ski Championships 2021 and the Beijing Winter Olympic Games 2022. In addition to skis, the agreement covers ski boots. The contract negotiations lasted for months, but in the end the decision to continue the cooperation was easy for both parties.

Pärmäkoski has been very satisfied with the service provided by Madshus and the stable product development of the stable:

“In recent years, we have also been able to influence product development ourselves for both skis and carbon mono. The collaboration has gone well and Madshus has a professional team developing skis. I believe that Madshus' ski equipment can win big races,” comments Pärmäkoski.

Throughout her career, Pärmäkoski has skied on Madshus skis: “In fact, even the first combi skis were Madshus-branded. Ever since I was a child, all my skis have been of the same brand, so this is already quite a common sky,” she describes.

Pärmäkoski's personal coach Matti Haavisto has been actively in contact with Madshus' development team over the years and trusts in the competitiveness of skis:

“Today, new prototypes are also made to Krista’s dimensions, so different frame and base material options can be tested right from the start. The service has been good in all respects from Madshus' direction and the trust in doing is mutual,” comments Haavisto.

New skis have already been tested during the season and the tests continued after the season:

“The new Redline 3.0 body skis have been promising. Most of the competitions of the past season were already skied on skis with a new frame,” says Haavisto.

Ski tester also included in contract

Madshus has been a payer for Pärmäkoski's own ski tester, club friend Maaret Pajunoja, about testing skis on a World Cup tour for the past two seasons. The extension agreement now signed includes a similar service for future periods.

“There is now a clearer overall picture of the entire Krista race ski equipment and we were able to offer new pairs from the Madshus factory on many race weekends as comparison pairs for old cannon pairs,” describes Pajunoja.

Ten-time honorary medalist Krista Pärmäkoski has previously said that the Beijing Winter Olympics are the main goal of her career. At the Beijing Winter Olympics, Pärmäkoski will ski with Madshus skis and ski boots as well as Swix poles.
