Sprint C

Women

  • The last three individual World Cup sprint events held in Falun were won by Swedish women: Stina Nilsson in 2017 and 2019, and Hanna Falk in 2018.

  • Anamarija Lampic leads the overall sprint World Cup standings. She won two individual sprint events this World Cup season, both stages in the 2019/20 Tour de Ski.

  • Lampic (2) and Linn Svahn (2) are the only women to have claimed multiple sprint victories in this season's World Cup.

  • Lampic's only World Cup win outside the Tour de Ski was a victory in the sprint classic style in Pyeongchang on 3 February 2017.

  • Lampic finished in the top two in each of the last four individual sprint events in the World Cup.

  • Linn Svahn has won two individual sprint events in the World Cup: the sprint freestyle in Davos on 14 December 2019 and the sprint freestyle in Dresden on 11 January 2020.

  • Among Swedish women, only Stina Nilsson (18) and Hanna Falk (4) have won at least three individual World Cup sprint events.

  • Svahn has won four of the eight World Cup events (all disciplines) in which she participated: two individual sprint and two team sprint events.

  • Only Charlotte Kalla (6) and Elena Välbe (5) won more than four women's World Cup events (all disciplines) before their 21st birthday. Therese Johaug also won four times before turning 21.

  • Svahn could become the second woman to win three individual World Cup sprint events before her 21st birthday, after Pirjo Muranen (3).

  • Maiken Caspersen Falla won four of the last six individual sprint classic style World Cup events in which she competed, including the last three. The only exceptions in that run were a fourth place in Ruka on 24 November 2018 and a third place in Planica on 20 January 2018.

  • Only Marit Bjørgen (16) and Petra Majdic (14) have won more individual sprint classic style events in the World Cup than Falla (11).

  • Falla has claimed 50 podium finishes in individual sprint World Cup events, trailing only Bjørgen (60) for most among women.

  • Falla finished on the podium twice in the individual sprint in Falun: second place in 2017 and 2019.

  • Jonna Sundling could become the third Swedish woman to win three individual sprint World Cup events, after Nilsson (18) and Falk (4).

  • Natalia Nepryaeva won the sprint classic in Oberstdorf on 26 January, her first victory in the World Cup.

  • Nepryaeva can become the second Russian woman to win multiple sprint events in the World Cup, after Natalia Matveeva (2).

  • Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen (16) holds the record for most podium places in women's individual sprint World Cup events without ever winning.

  • The most recent US woman to win an individual sprint World Cup event was Jessica Diggins in the sprint freestyle in Cogne on 16 February 2019.

Men

  • The last 10 individual sprint World Cup events were won by either Johannes Høsflot Klæbo (8) or Lucas Chanavat (2).

  • Chanavat already is the Frenchman on most wins (2) and podiums (9) in individual World Cup sprint events.

  • Chanavat recorded one podium finish in Falun, a third place in the sprint freestyle event on 16 March 2018.

  • Federico Pellegrino has won 13 career sprint World Cup events, joint-third most among men alongside Ola Vigen Hattestad. Only Johannes Høsflot Klæbo (21) and Emil Jönsson (16) won more.

  • Pellegrino won the sprint freestyle World Cup event in Falun on 28 January 2017. The Italian only recorded multiple sprint World Cup victories in Davos (2).

  • Only one of Pellegrino's 13 World Cup sprint victories came in the classic style: in Canmore on 8 March 2016 (Ski Tour Canada).

  • Pellegrino could become the only man to win an individual sprint World Cup event in each of the last six seasons.

  • Five of Alexander Bolshunov's six World Cup podium finishes in individual sprint events were in classic style events, including his only win in Ruka on 24 November 2018.

  • Gleb Retivykh is third in the overall sprint World Cup standings. He won one individual sprint classic style World Cup event: in Pyeongchang on 3 February 2017.

  • All of Sergey Ustiugov's five sprint wins have come in freestyle events. Only Trond Iversen (5) has claimed more podium finishes in sprint classic style World Cup events without ever winning than Ustiugov (4).

  • Ustiugov already holds the record for most World Cup wins (15) and podium places (43) in individual events among Russians.

  • Richard Jouve (9) has claimed the most men's World Cup podium finishes (including Tour stages and overall Tour wins) without ever winning.

  • Sindre Bjørnestad Skar finished twice on the sprint podium in Falun: both third places in freestyle sprint events (2017 and 2019). He did not record three individual sprint podium finishes in any other city (also 2 in Dresden).

Men

  • Alexander Bolshunov, the overall leader in the World Cup, has won each of the last three individual distance World Cup races. The last man to record four consecutive individual distance wins in the World Cup was Sergey Ustiugov in 2016/17 (all victories in the Tour de Ski).

  • Bolshunov reached the podium in each of the last eight individual distance World Cup events he appeared in, since a seventh place in the 15km freestyle in Davos on 15 December 2019.

  • Bolshunov (10) is the Russian male skier to have recorded the most individual distance wins in the World Cup.

  • Three of those 13 wins have come in Falun. Bolshunov has not won more than two World Cup events in any other ski resort.

  • Sjur Røthe claimed a podium spot in three of the last four World Cup distance events, the only exception a fourth-place finish in the 15km pursuit classic style in Nové Mesto na Morave on 19 January.

  • Maurice Manificat already holds the French men's record for most World Cup wins (10) and podium places (29) in individual distance World Cup events.

  • Manificat won the 15m pursuit freestyle in Falun on 21 March 2010 (World Cup Final). He only recorded multiple World Cup distance wins in Canmore and Davos (both 2 wins).

  • Manificat's most recent World Cup victory in a distance event came in the 15km freestyle in Ulricehamn on 26 January 2019.

Women

  • Therese Johaug won 11 of the last 13 individual distance events in the World Cup, including each of the last four since Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen won the 10km classic style in the Tour de Ski on 3 January.

  • Among women, only Marit Bjørgen (62) has won more individual World Cup distance events than Johaug (57).

  • Johaug (10) could win at least 11 individual distance events in a World Cup season for the second time, after 2015/16 (14). No other woman has ever achieved this.

  • Johaug finished in the top two in 23 of her last 24 individual World Cup appearances in distance events, with the only exception a fourth place in the 10km classic style in Val di Fiemme on 3 January 2020.

  • Only Bjørgen (9) has won more women's individual World Cup distance events in Falun than Johaug (7). Johaug has only won more individual distance events in Val di Fiemme (10) and Ruka (8) than in Falun (7).

  • Johaug won in each of her last six individual World Cup appearances in distance events in Falun.

  • Ingvild Flugstad Østberg has won 13 individual World Cup distance events in total, fourth most among Norwegian women - Marit Bjørgen (62), Johaug (57) and Bente Skari (25).

  • Norwegian women have won all 12 individual distance events in this season's World Cup: Therese Johaug (10), Ingvild Flugstad Østberg (1) and Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen (1).

  • The last non-Norwegian woman to win an individual distance World Cup event was Stina Nilsson: the 10km classic style during the World Cup Final in Quebec on 23 March 2019.

  • Heidi Weng is currently second in the standings for the distance World Cup. She collected seven podiums in individual distance events this season.

  • Weng has won seven individual distance World Cup events, but not since the 9km pursuit freestyle in Val di Fiemme on 7 January 2018.

  • The only Swedish woman to have won an individual World Cup distance event in Sweden is Charlotte Kalla. She won in Gällivare in 2008 (10km freestyle), in Falun in 2010 (10km pursuit freestyle) and in Östersund in 2015 (10km freestyle).

  • Teresa Stadlober finished on the podium in the most recent distance event in the World Cup: a third place in the skiathlon in Oberstdorf.

  • Austrian women have collected four World Cup podiums in distance events, including three by Stadlober, but have yet to win one.
