Teodor Peterson retires from Cross-Country skiing

Already at the beginning of March 2020, Teodor Peterson announced his plans to retire from the professional Cross-Country circuit. The 31 year-old Swede can proudly look back on a successfull career and result including Olympic bronze and silver medals as well as 12 World Cup podiums.

Teodor Peterson entered the FIS Cross-Country World Cup at the end of the 2008/09 season. At this first World Cup appearance in Lahti, he did not only qualify but reached the quarter finals and ended on the 16th rank. From then on, Teodor Peterson had secured himself a safe spot in the Swedish Sprint National team.

The season 2011/12 started with Teodors first stage World Cup victory at the Nordic Opening in Ruka (FIN). Peterson continued his strong performances at the Sprints in Düsseldorf, with a 5th rank and victory in his first ever team sprint with Jesper Modin.

One weekend later, Teodor celebrated his first individual World Cup podium (2nd) at the Davos Nordic Sprint in Siwtzerland.

Teodor Peterson took control of the Sprint World Cup podiums also for the rest of the season and celebrated his first victory at the Sprint World Cup ranking in the season 2011/12. On the Overall World Cup ranking, he concluded the season on the 16th place.

Also in the following seasons, Peterson managed to perform at a top level and claimed podium finished on a regular basis. At the Olympic Winter Games in Sotchi 2014 he reached the bronze medal in the team sprint together with Emil Jönsson and the silver medal in the individual Sprint.

Teodor Peterson remained a challenger in the Sprint competitions also in the following seasons and also kept congrol of the Swedish Championships throughout those years (10x gold, 2x silver and 1x bronze).
