Throughout the past winter months, many organizers of great Cross-Country events had to cancel their competitions due to the current global health situation. The cancellations have hit athletes, organizers, spectators but also youngsters who had just gotten the introduction to the Cross-Country world.

By example of the China City Sprint, many young sport enthusiasts had the chance to explore a new discipline and got engaged into the sport. With the cancelled international competitions, the connection to other competing athletes is dearly missed. In connection to the upcoming Chinese New Year, the organizer of the Cina City Sprint sends the teams best regards and hopes for the situation to be improving soon, in order to make international competitions possible again in a safe surrounding.

"Chinese New Year is right around the corner and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support towards the China City Sprints. It has been a huge success and does not only introduce Chinese people to the sport but has also inspired many Chinese youngsters to practice and engage in the winter sport. It is exciting to see more and more participants in our City Sprints and to introduce a new way of living healthy and strong. China City Sprints will continue as soon as the pandemic allows and we are looking forward to welcome you back to China! Last but not least, I would like to wish you all a healthy and happy New Year."Abraham Wang, Head of LOC China City Sprints
