At the same time as the first snowflakes fall in several places in Sweden, the Cross-Country national team attends its first camp on snow. The Swedish national team train on saved artificial snow from last winter for a week and a half in Vålådalen.

The 2020/2021 season is fast approaching and with less than a month left until the Swedish premiere, the Cross-Country team is going to camp in Vålådalen, where it has been possible to ski since Saturday. Approximately 9,000 cubic meters of snow have been saved from last winter, which has now been laid out and prepared for a three-kilometer loop.

"It feels good that we get to snow this early. Even though we have been to Torsby and skied this summer, this will be another thing to be outdoors," says Anders Byström.

Since Vålådalen opened its tracks, Team Svenska Spel's Elite Environments has already kicked off with camps and certifies that there are good conditions that now the A national team and Team BAUHAUS and will be able to take part in. Team Svenska Spel Junior will also be on site for a shorter camp.

Those who are missing for the start of the camp are Calle Halfvarsson and Elina Rönnlund. Calle has had colds and Elina has problems with a tooth, but both hope to be able to connect in a few days.

"In addition, the group is fresh and it feels super fun that we get to snow. Now we have to continue working on the pieces we have worked with on the bare ground, take it out on the snow," says Stefan Thomson, women's coach.

In Vålådalen, the focus will be on getting many hours on snow. Two tough training races will also be carried out.

"It will be fun and interesting to see how they stand now on snow," says Stefan and continues: "It is a difference to find the feeling on roller skis compared to snow."

Also at the camp is last year's breakthrough Linn Svahn who has shown that she can also go fast on roller skis during the summer, when she won one of two races when the Alliance race was decided. But now she is really tagged to get on the snow again.
