Hard work pays off for Rosie Brennan. The U.S. athlete takes her maiden World Cup victory in todays Sprint F along the demanding course of Davos Nordic.

Brennan set the pace right from the start by setting the fastest qualification time. In the quarter finals, she faced last seasons Sprint World Cup runner up from Slovenia, Anamarija Lampic who doubled up on last years top-performances. The same duo challenged each other in the semi finals, but had to defend their spots of local Swiss Sprint expert Nadine Fähndrich who had her eyes set on a maiden World Cup victory on home ground. Thanks to a fast heat time and the "lucky looser" position, Brennan stormed into the finals where she passed Fähndrich in the final downhill and defended her position until the finish line. 0.28 seconds behind followed Anamarija Lampic before third placed Natalia Nepryaeva (RUS) who edges out Nadine Fähndrich on the final stretch by 0.04 seconds and a photo finish!
