After a rest day, the FIS Cross-Country world elite continued the hunt for the World Champion titles in Oberstdorf. Therese Johaug (NOR) headed into the 10km individual start in free technique the favourite for the title. Indeed, the defending World Champion had the day of her season and stated in the finish: "I think I had the day of my season this year. I felt incredibly strong and fresh and really have to give thanks to my amazing team of waxers. They are out day and night to test and find the best option for the race. This victory is really dedicated to all of my team and I am really happy to repeat my title".

Therese Johaug wins by an incredible margin of 54 seconds before her contender from Sweden, Frida Karlsson. The young Swede had in previous seasons already been able to challenge Johaug in Distance competitions but could not touch the winning time despite a thrilling run. Karlsson also defends her title as Vice World Champion in the same discipline, 10km from Seefeld, 2 years ago.

Third on the podium comes Ebba Andersson (SWE), +12 seconds behind her team colleague Karlsson. Andersson claims her second bronze medal at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf, after her third place in Skiathlon.
