The Finnish Ski team concluded their performance weekend at the 16th Vuokatti Aateli Race from 5th to 6th September. Traditionally, the race would have been held in the week after Midsummer. Due to the special circumstances, it was postponed but could take place in full swing.

A strong appearance of the Niskanen family decided Saturdays Roller Skiing prologues as Iivo and Kerttu decided the mens and womens competitions for themselves (click here to see Saturdays results).

The second race day of Vuokatti's Aateli Race on Sunday awaited with a 3/4.5km Trailrun in the morning and a 10/15km Roller Skiing F race in the afternoon. Johanna Matintalo stepped into the leading position by showing a strong run in the morning, still closely chased by Oona Kettunen and Laura Mononen in third place. Kerttu Niskanen had the runner up position from the 4th place as she entered the Roller Skiing section in the afternoon. The mens competition saw no other leader than Iivo Niskanen who took the Trailrun victory before 21-year old Kevin Lindholm and Markus Vuorela.

Crowned as Vuokatti's Aateli Races royals were the winners after the Roller Skiing competition. Only the final climb decided who earned the title in the womens competition. Kerttu Niskanen managed to caught up with the leading trio and tried to break away. Despite her efforts, Mononen and Matintalo remained on her heels and thus the finish stretch decided on the final ranking of the performance weekend.  The men's victory awaited for Iivo Niskanen who ensured himself a safe lead before the last leg, ending the race with a 50 second margin to the second ranked Ristomatti Hakola and third Markus Vuorela.

In the men's series, victory was not fought like women, but Iivo Niskanen had a safe lead before the last ski leg. Niskanen won the sixth Vuokatti Aateli Racensa by a margin of 50 seconds to the next.
