Season approaches: performance weekends underway

The upcomig FIS Cross-Country season 2020/21 promises to be a special one. For the 40th time, the worlds best Cross-Country skiers from around the globe will compete along the World Cup circuit. The anniversary will be accompanied by additional tasks off the competition course due to Covid-19 and it's regulations in and for all participating countries. The various organizers together with FIS have been working on solutions to allow a World Cup season to happen. How the season will develop largly depends on the global situation in the upcoming weeks.

While preparations continue from an organizational point of view, of course also the main focus of the World Cup - the athletes - get ready to take control over the competition sites. After the transition from summer into autumn training, various teams have entered performance days.

Switzerland - Nordic weekend Andermatt
The traditional three day competition weekend kept Switzerland's top Cross-Country and Biathlete athletes busy during Roller Skiing sprint and distance sessions as well as the legendary "Climb the hill" final on Sunday.

Finland - Vuokatti's Aateli race
An intense two-day schedule demanded strong forces of Finlands Ski elite on Roller Skis as well as on the trailrunning course - just the right kind of weekend for the Niskanen siblings.

Russia - National performance weekend
The national performance weekend was held in Tyumens "Pearl of Siberia" and held the perfect conditions for spectacular Roller Skiing sessions.

Poland - Senior Championships
A spotless organization during challenging times ensured the OC in Zakopane for the Polish seniors championships where it was time to shine for JWSC rocket, Izabela Marcisz.
