Third national training camp for Swedish national team
Sep 24, 2020·Cross-CountryIt has been a different summer for the Cross-Country national teams. Instead of going on training camps abroad, all gatherings of the Swedish national athletes have taken place at home. For a good week, the tean has now gathered in Sollefteå for their third training camp this summer.
At the beginning of August, the national team management decided not to travel abroad to camp this pre-season.
"Given the world situation and the pandemic that continues to grow in many countries, we believe, together with the medical team's knowledge and experience, that we should take our responsibility and stay in Sweden during the autumn," Anders Byström said then.
In retrospect, it was the right decision and the time at home has been positive from several points of view.
"Smaller trips are of course good, then we had great competition and training days in Trollhättan and a few more days in Torsby. And now there will be more nice days in Sollefteå. All skiers from both the A national team and Team BAUHAUS come to the camp", says the men's coach Anders Högberg and continues: "the shape of the mens team is great. There is no one who even has a defect right now, so it is very good."
Magnus Ingesson, the womens coach adds: "the situation on the women's side is also good and those who had minor injuries are back in training. In addition, it has been a very good summer from an illness point of view." The only one who misses the camp is Anna Dyvik who has just caught a cold.
In Sollefteå, a divers training schedule on Roller Skis is taking place with an extra focus on the freestyle technique. Skiers on site in Sollefteå:
