The Turkish Ski Federation soon completes the countries first Rollerski track that has been constructed in cooperation with Gerede Municipality. It is located in the Gerede Arkut Ski Center where the Ski Federation has been organizing FIS Balkan COC Cup finals in Cross-Country skiing for several years.

To support the development of the teams, the Youth and Sport Ministry of Turkey established a Cross-Country school in Gerede together with the Turkish Ski Federation. The school is looking after five FIS homologated Cross-Country courses, running trails, imitation and recovery facilities. The Rollerski course is a valuable addition to the sport school and gives the athletes a wider range of possibilities to train all year round.

Thanks to the infrastructure, local skier Aysenur Duman fulfilled her dreams and participated in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyoengChang. Gerde keeps on motivating around 100 young athletes every year to participate in Cross-Country skiing.

The latest addition to the Arkut Ski Center was inspected by Ali Oto, president of the Turkish Ski Federation and Mustafa Allar, Mayor of Gerede. With two loops of 2.5km and 1.8km (4m and 10m wide), the construction is ideally settled along the Ski Center.

"I believe that we will bring up many future champions thanks to Gerede Ski Center and this dedicated new Rollerski track".Ali Oto, president Turkish Ski Federation

The venue is frequently used by teams from the Balkan region and World Cup teams for training camps. For the future plans of the venue, the Turkish Ski Federation is hoping to host the FIS Rollerski Balkan Cup, FIS Rollerski World Cup and FIS Rollerski World Championships.

Located 3hrs from Istanbul and 1.5hrs from Ankara, the Arkut Ski Center will look forward to welcome the Rollerski family in Gerede.
