The 10km individual start in Free technique of Falun definitely suits the profile of current Overall World Cup and Distance World Cup leader  - and winner of this years Tour de Ski - Jessie Diggins (USA). The endurance of the U.S. athlete was challenged on the hilly course of Falun but nevertheless, the 29 year-old managed to take the victory, 2.1 seconds before distance expert from Norway, Therese Johaug. The Norwegian set out in the last field of competitors and contested Diggins all along the course as took the lead along the Mörarbakken. On the final stretch however, Diggins - with excellent skills in the downhills - was not to be caught up with.

"It feels so unreal right now. Falun is such a tough course but this exactly what suits me best. My goal was just to go with the flow of the course and to stay focussed to ski a smart race. "Jessie Diggins (USA)

A thrilled Ebba Andersson (SWE) was able to hang at around 10 seconds behind the leading duo of Diggins and Johaug in the first half of the race and finished 14 seconds behind the winning time. "At one point I almost fell. I knew I had to ski out the best I could in order to gain some time to make it on the podium but it was tricky to stand on my feet," said Andersson after the race. The trio ski out an exceptional margin, 26 seconds before the fourth ranked Ragnhild Haga from Norway.
