With maiden World Cup victory into the new season
Nov 27, 2020·Cross-Country24 year-old Erik Valnes from Norway has started his season with setting a milestone to his career. By a margin of 0.61 seconds he takes the victory before Johannes Høsflot Klæbo. The Norwegian podium sweep was completed by Emil Iversen.
"This victory means everything to me right now. I tried all my life to be the best that I can and having this World Cup victory is the best thing I could asked for. I learned a lot (from Johannes) as he is the best sprinter of all times and I am happy to be with him in the team. It is very special to beat him in a track like this."– Erik Valnes
Indeed, Klæbo and Valnes challenged each other right from the qualification round and sprinted to a thrilling final.

Also Jovian Hediger from Switzerland added another milestone to his career with the first individual top-6 result in recent years.
Ristomatti Hakola (8th) and Joni Mäki (11th) represent the Finnish team in the top rankings with a strong and consistent performance.
