First ever Cross-Country City Sprint in Shanghai
Dec 23, 2021·Cross-CountryOn December 18th and 19th, Shanghai hosted the first ever FIS Cross-Country City Sprint. The event was held along Yangtze River, and the Cross-Country skiing track was set up along 250m long river bank in Yangpu. A total of 23 male and 13 female athletes from both China and Russia competed for 2 days in both Sprint and Team Sprint.

The Sprint weekend was the first snow sport event organized in Shanghai and was live broadcasted on Chinese Olympic Channel (CCTV-16) and onine streams with estimated total 80+million viewers during 2 days’ event. The event was planned to take place in March 2020, but it was postponed due to pandemic outbreak. Finally it took place 21 months later.

We are striving to get back to normal routine, which is to continue promoting Cross-Country. We are pleased to tell you that we just have had a great FIS CC Skiing City Sprint in Shanghai on Dec.18-19, we missed you all who have ever joined us in the past city sprints in China.
Hopefully we will be back to completely normal in 2022, I am looking forward to seeing you again in China, in both City Sprints and other CC skiing races!
