In preparation for the FIS Junior / U23 World Championships 2022
Jan 31, 2022·Cross-CountryRight after the Olympic Winter Games, the largest title event for the next generation top skiers will go underway: the FIS Junior and U23 World Ski Championships. After the Polish Ski Federation had given back the Cross-Country events in autumn 2021, the Norwegian Ski Federation jumped in and will be hosting the large event together with the organizing committee in Lygna.
13 competitions are on schedule from 22nd to 27th February 2022. With the experience of various events, including Norwegian National Cross-Country Championships, the organizers are ready to welcome the international top skiers at the Lygna Skisenter.
Situated around 50km northwest of Oslo Airport, Lygna is well accessible and offers great ready-to-use infrastructure with a diverse course setting. A 5km course set for the mass start and a 5km C track for the interval starts, a 3.3km and 2.5km course for the Relays as well as a 1.2km Sprint track are foreseen to be used.
In addition, pivotal services such as transportation and – essential nowadays – Covid test facilities will be available to guarantee the best possible conditions around the competitions.
