Lillehammer (NOR): Emma Ribom strikes again
Dec 03, 2022·Cross-CountryThe second competition day of the COOP FIS Cross-Country World Cup in the Norwegian city of Lillehammer awaited with Sprint racing in Free technique. A cheering crowd had gathered around the stadium and courses and heated up the Sprint action.
Emma Ribom from Sweden hit the fastest time in qualification and doubled up on her Sprint victory from Ruka with taking on the course action also around the Olympic course set in Lillehammer. In the final heat, the 25 year old gave no chances to her contenders and took her second ever World Cup victory of her four World Cup podiums of her career.
Only 0.17 seconds behind the winner, last seasons Sprint World Cup winner Maja Dahlqvist crossed the finish line, taking her first World Cup podium of the season. The Overall World Cup leader from Norway, Tiril Udnes Weng took the last spot on the podium and defended her yellow bib.
