Andersen: Maiden World Cup win at second World Cup race

It was the first Interval start in Free technique of the season and that will set the startinglist for sundays Pursuit.
Iver Tildheim Andersen is the man of the hour in Lillehammer, Norway. And despite being a rather unknown name on the start list - he was whom everyone was talking about when the result list was out. In his only ever second World Cup start, he sat the pace all the way from start to finish, and took his first World Cup victory.
"I dont know what to say, it was really fun, but i did not belive this before the race," said the overwhelmed 22 year-old.
Didrik Tønseth was right behind Andersen, with only 2,8 seconds and took the second place. Hans Christer Holund was the last Norwegian stepping up on the podium today, and completed the Norwegian triple.
After todays race, Pål Golberg is the new World Cup Overall leader with 367 points and will race in the yellow bib for Saturdays Sprint in Free technique.
