Michal Lamplot named new FIS Cross Country Race Director

The International Ski and Snowboard Federation has named Michal Lamplot the new Cross Country Race Director. He is replacing Pierre Mignerey, who is leaving his position as the Race Director after a successful 12-years.

Lamplot is a very familiar face on the FIS Cross Country World Cup tour having worked side-by-side with Mignerey the last 12 years. Lamplot has worked in virtually every aspect of FIS Cross Country, from social media and content creation, media coordinator, leading the Nordic Junior & U23 World Ski Championships, to a vast background with the sports side as FIS Cross-Country Assistant Race Director. He joined the organization in 2009.

“Pierre has been a great leader, mentor and friend. Working with him for more than a decade has given me the best preparation I could ask for to take on this new role.” said Lamplot.
“I am excited to take over the responsibility and am looking forward to continue working with all stakeholders and partners for a successful future of Cross-Country Skiing. . With Doris and Synne we have a very strong and competent Cross-Country team and we are fully focused on the upcoming season.”

FIS Secretary General Michel Vion said, “First and foremost, we would like to thank Pierre for his tremendous work the last 12 years with FIS. He has laid the ground work for a solid future for the sport, and built a team that will be able to make a seamless transition.”

Along with Michal Lamplot, who focus’ on the sport matters, Doris Kallen has moved into the position of World Cup Coordinator and Synne Dyrhaug has taken over the media operations in the FIS Cross Country team.

“With Doris and Synne we have a very strong and competent Cross-Country team and we are fully focused on the upcoming season,” concluded Lamplot.
