Arnesen and Becchis winners of the Super sprint competition in FIS Roller Ski World Cup 2023

On Friday it was time for super sprint, and the two favorites Julie Henriette Arnesen and Emanuele Becchis showed that they are in good shape in their crown distance. Julie Henriette Arnesen from Norway secured first place in fight against Jackline Lockner from Sweden. In final B, Linn Soemskar from Sweden took 3rd place in duel with Victoria Nitteberg from Norway.

Emanuele Becchis showed his supremacy winning in final duel against Jostein Olafsen from Norway. 3rd place in final B was won by Michele Valerio from Italy against Sigurd Braathen Reigstad(NOR).

Linn Soemskar keeps the World Cup overall leader bib with (217 points). And for the mens it is Emanuele Becchis who is on the top of overall ranking with 220 points.

Junior World Cup competition overview

In Junior competition starting field was dominated by local athletes from Kazakhstan. In Junior Women group Anna Maria Ghiddi from Italy managed to secured 1st place second day in a row. In final A she beated the local favorite Mariya Gerachshenko. 3rd place went to Violetta Mitroplskaya (KAZ).

In Junior Men group all podium places were taken by Kazakhstan athletes: 1. Dastan Kalibekov, 2. Radomir Malov, 3. Sultan Bazarbekov. In Junior World Cup overall ranking current leader are GHIDDI Anna Maria (230) and KALIBEKOV Dastan (218).

It is great to noticed gradual progress of team Thailand which started development of rollerski discipline only few years ago but already secured 2 athletes top 16 in Sprint finals. In overall nation cup standing Kazakhstan has a huge point gap leaving Italy in 2nd position and Norway in 3rd.
