Planica (SLO): Athletes to watch U23
Feb 06, 2024·Cross-CountryMore than 450 athletes representing 42 different nations have gathered in Planica to battle at the 2024 FIS Junior and U23 World Ski Championships, 5 February – 11 February.
We have gathered togheter some athletes in the U23 competitions that you should keep an extra eye on, and we are starting with the men´s:
Norway (NOR):
Matz W. Jenssen: 15 WC Starts, 4 TOP 10 finishes, and was 4th in Ruka.
Martin K. Moerk: 4 WC Starts, best result 12th.
Edvard Sandvik: 3 WC Starts.
Sweden (SWE):
Emil Danielsson: 19 WC Starts, best finish 11th.
Truls Gisselman: 19 WC Starts.
Finland (FIN):
Niko Anttola: 2nd place WSC Planica 2023 relay, 7 WC starts.
Italy (ITA):
Martino Carollo: 14th Davos in Davos, 4th overall in FESA Cup.
Switzerland (SUI):
Antonin Savary: 8 WC Starts, best finish 20th in Davos Sprint.
USA:
John Steel Hagenbuch: 8 WC Starts, 13th Oestersund 10km indivdual start.
France (FRA):
Rémi Bourdin: Leader of the FESA Cup, 9 WC Starts, 8th Davos Pursuit, 9th Val di Fiemme Mass Start.
Mathis Desloges: 2 WC Starts, 25th place in Goms.
Woman U23 athletes:
Norway (NOR):
Margrethe Bergane: 30 WC starts, 4 TOP 10 finishes.
Maria H. Melling: 13 WC starts, 2 TOP 10 finishes.
USA:
Novie McCabe: 33 WC starts, 1 TOP 10 finish.
Germany (GER):
Helen Hoffman: 5 WC starts, and several victories in the FESA Cup.
Switzerland (SUI):
Anja Weber: 21 WC starts, participated in Planica 2023 WSC and in the Olympic games in Beijing.
Nadja Kaelin: 21 WC starts, best finish 19th in Oberstdorf.
Finland (FIN):
Vilma Ryyty: 12 WC starts, best finish 21st in Val Di Fiemme.
Hilla Niemela: 10 WC starts, best finish 21st in Ruka.
Italy (ITA):
Nadine Laurent: 2 WC starts.
Sweden (SWE):
Maerta Rosenberg: 14 WC starts, best finish 19th in Val Di Fiemme.
Moa Hansson: 8 WC starts.
