Summer training for FIS Cross-Country athletes does not necessarily mean to stay away from snow. Various athletes and training camps have returned to resorts that still provide training conditions for Cross-Country skiing.

Those snow sessions meant also testing of new equipment and for some FIS Cross-Country athletes, the beginning of a new collaboration with a new brand.

One of the earliest equipment change announcements came from the Swiss Sprint rocket, Nadine Fähndrich. The 26 year-old has celebrated great successes on Peltonen skis but decided that it’s #timetoplay with the Salomon Nordic Team.

Also Nadine’s brother Cyril, who has started competing in the World Cup in 2020/21, decided to switch from Peltonen to Atomic skis.

The Atomic Nordic team keeps on growing with high profiled FIS Cross-Country World Cup athletes as also Julia Kern (USA) and Andrew Young (GBR) join the team. Both athletes have formerly raced with Fischer and switched onto the new equipment after the past Olympic season.

With Ville Ahonen (FIN), recently third placed at the Finnish National Championships in the 50km C, and 21 year-young, World Cup rookie George Ersson from Sweden, the new additions to the Atomic family are complete.

Mattis Stenshagen (NOR) - Scandinavian Cup winner 2021/22 – exchanges his Rossignol race skis and joins the Fischer Race family as of the upcoming season. The same journey takes Vilma Nissinen (FIN) and changes from Rossignol skis to Fischer.

24 year-old Remi Lindholm from Finland choses new paths with his new ski pole partner EXEL.

Equipment updates featured as of 8th June 2022.
