Jean-Marc Gaillard ends professional career

Jean-Marc Gaillard.
A name that has been on the start lists of the FIS Cross-Country World Cup for 21 (!) years.
After completing his 300 World Cup competition, Jean-Marc announced to retire from Cross-Country skiing this spring. The double Olympic Bronze medalist and now 41 year-old French man has lived through many revisions of international top level skiing and challenged generations of skiers on the race course.
As a Relay member of the French team, Gaillard took home two Bronze medals from the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi and Pyoengchang as well as the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun. In the World Cup, seven individual and three Relay podium spots were reached, including an individual World Cup victory in 2008.
Jean-Marc was the only athlete, that competed at all FIS Tour de Ski events since its inauguration until the season 2021 and has set milestones in the FIS Cross-Country history.
