On the second race day of the FIS Rollerski World Cup 2021 event in Banská Bystrica, free technique races with a Mass start were planned. The track was flat as it was run on three-kilometres circuit. In the women's categories, they competed at 12 km track, the men's categories had a one circuit more i.e., 15 km.

Sunny weather had come out for the competitors, so in addition to the race, the heat was a topic to be aware of for the first distance competition of the season. To ensure the same conditions, skis with uniform parameters were lent to the competitors.

The competitions started in the afternoon with the womens senior categories starting off first and the womens junior categories following up right away. In the first rounds, the groups remained together but the pace increased over time. The final stretch was led by Swede Linn Soemskar with local Alena Prochazkova close up for the chase together with Monika Skinder from Poland. Soemskar managed to hold her position however and ended the race in a time of 28:34.1. Among the juniors, the final gaps were greater, among the eight competitors, Laura Mortagna from Italy won the first place with a time of 31: 07.80.

The race afternoon continued with the mens junior categories. 13 competitors presented themselves on the track. The Slovak representative Jáchym Cenek also succeeded in this category, taking third place. Italian Aksel Artusi took the top spot and Lauris Kaparkalejs from Latvia finished second.

The most numerous competitor field was in the men's category, where 27 competitors attended. The start was at 5pm. All the time, most of the competitors went in one group, half of the racers reached the finish line with second intervals. The finish was therefore very exciting. The first place on the 15-kilometer track was finally won by the Latvian Ramio Vigants with a time of 31:11. Behind him raced the Italian brothers with Emanuele Becchis and Francesco Becchis.

On Sunday, the final race was scheduled with the 10 km C hill climb to the village of Kordiky. The track includes some challenges with a significant elevation.
