FIS Cross-Country, together with the Italian Ski Federation (FISI) have evaluated rising challenges in the organization of the scheduled Sprint World Cup in Milano. Especially due to largely increased costs that the organization of the event in the middle of the city center would have created, the conclusion was to move the competitions to the mountain resort of Livigno.

An on-site inspection approved the course tracks and event program to be able to take place as scheduled. In addition, as a ski resort, Livigno offers suitable logistic infrastructure to accommodate the FIS Cross-Country family.

“Of course we are looking to have as few changes to the original calendar program as possible. Nevertheless, we are aware of challenges organizers are facing these days with global issues affecting their events. That is why we remain in constant exchange and need to be able to react on time. With Livigno, FISI has presented a great alternative for the Sprint weekend in January and we are looking forward to get the final preparations underway.”Michal Lamplot, FIS Cross-Country Race Director
