From January 25th to 28th, 2024, the world's best ski jumpers will compete for gold, silver, and bronze at the FIS Ski Flying World Championships at Kulm. For the red-white-red ski-flying Mecca in Ausseerland (AUT), these are already the sixth international championships following those in 1975, 1986, 1996, 2006, and 2016.

"A Ski Flying World Championship is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious events in winter sports, as reflected in the great interest of partners and sponsors in this event," says Roswitha Stadlober. From the perspective of the Austrian Ski Federation, the home World Championship will also be used to inspire many children and young people to take up ski jumping. "That's why, as part of the qualification, we will organize a Kids Day with free admission. Also, on competition days, a family-friendly pricing for tickets has been a major concern for us," explains the ÖSV President, 100 days before the season's highlight.

The preparations for the Ski Flying Festival in Bad Mitterndorf/Tauplitz are proceeding as planned. "Our organization team is working with enthusiasm and great effort to create perfect conditions for everyone involved. This product is completed by the people on-site who, with their enthusiasm, make the fascination of ski flying tangible," explains Christoph Prüller, Project Manager of the Ski Flying World Championships Kulm 2024.

Emotions and athletic achievements The 28th Ski Flying World Championships naturally focus on the world's best ski jumpers. Austria's top eagles, including the world record holder Stefan Kraft, are among the favorites in the quest for distance on the Styrian "Monster-Bakken" and aim to compete for medals in both individual and team events. "A home World Championship in this atmosphere at Kulm is something unique. I had the opportunity to experience it in 2016. I really like the hill, and from a team perspective, we will have a very cool and strong team. I can already hear the 240 to 250 meters at Kulm ringing," says the reigning Ski Flying World Cup champion, who is already fired up for the home World Championship.

Eight years ago, in the last World Championship, Slovenian Peter Prevc not only became the world champion but also set a hill record with 244 meters, a record that still stands today. His compatriot Ziga Jelar confirmed last year that the hill can offer a few more meters, as he flew 247.5 meters, but unfortunately couldn't stick the landing.

The home World Championship is expected to be a very special experience for Daniel Tschofenig. For the Carinthian athlete, who showed great form in summer competitions and most recently at the national championships, this would be his first appearance at a Ski Flying World Championship. "I've never been to Kulm, but from what I've heard, I'm really looking forward to the atmosphere there. The athletic significance of a Ski Flying World Championship is enormous. If you're at the top after four jumps, you're the best ski flyer in the world at that moment."

Program & Tickets In addition to the sporting highlights, fans can also look forward to a fantastic program. The sensational World Championship opening ceremony will feature top live bands such as Folkshilfe and the Poxrucker Sisters, getting fans in the mood for the spectacular ski flying event in Styria. You can find the exact program at www.wirsindkulm.at.

Just in time for the 100-day countdown, all ticket categories for the flight show of the year are available. Tickets for the Ski Flying World Championships at Kulm (and all other Ski Austria events) can be purchased at www.skiaustriaticket.at."
