Slovenian summer titles to Vrhovnik and Verbic

In rainy Planica, the best Slovenian Nordic Combined athletes competed for the title of national champion last weekend.

Among the athlete, the status of the first favourite went to Vid Vrhovnik, who held a very big advantage over the pursuers already after the jumping part. He lead the race with 1 minute and 48 seconds. In the end, he added another eight seconds to his advantage over Gašper Brecl. The bronze was won by Matic Hladnik who was in fifth place after the jumps.

Results Men

The women’s competition was a much more contested affair. After the jumping part, Silva Verbič had an advantage of one minute and 28 seconds on teammate Ema Volavsek but the second melted away during the roller ski race and in the end, Verbic had 13 seconds left when crossing the finish line. The bronze was won by Špela Mastnak, who was second after the jump ing part (+0:14) but lost a lot of time on roller skis. She finally finished two minutes and 17 seconds after Verbic. Tinkara Gros was fourth.
