Norway's Anders Fannemel fell on Thursday at a jump during a training camp in Wisla and sustained a knee injury.

"Anders made a very good jump. It was his third jump in our training session today. In good conditions he jumped on 140 m, fell at the landing and injured his knee", said head coach Alexander Stoeckl.

So far, there is no exact diagnosis regarding the injury. "He is in the hospital, where they are checking how serious the injury is. We don't know it yet and we have to wait and see. It is very sad, that he is injured and we wish him all the best", the Austrian added.

The Norwegian national team is currently holding a training camp in Wisla (POL), where the FIS Grand Prix 2019 kicks off with a team (Saturday) and an individual event (Sunday) this weekend.

Update: The bad news was announced on Friday evening. Anders Fannemel suffered injuries of the ACL and the meniscus. He will have to undergo surgery and will be sidelined for nine months.
