Tess Ledeux (FRA) and Oscar Wester (SWE) have prevailed in the last World Cup of 2017 which was staged in Font Romeu, France on Saturday.

Just one day prior to Christmas, both skiers made themselves the perfect gift throwing down solid runs each to walk away with the win under a blue bird sky while facing spring-like snow conditions.

Ledeux impressed the judges in her first run of the ladies' final which featured the top 6 qualifiers scoring a 92.80 therefore underlining that she has a special connection with the ressort nestling in the French Pyrenees.

Eleven months ago, the 16-year-old from La Plagne had earned her career's first on the same slope already, and today, she found that winning mood again.

Already having a comfortable lead after run one she stepped up her game one more time getting awarded with a 93.60.

She therefore edged off Jennie-Lee Burmansson (SWE) and best qualifier Tiril Sjaastad Christiansen (NOR) to the respective second and third rank.

In the men's event, the finals of the best 16 qualifiers were in the hands of North European athletes with Wester earning his career's first ahead of Norwegian Vikings Ferdinand Dahl (93.40), Thursday's best qualifier and Oystein Braaten (93.40) in a close decision for the win.

In the end, it was Wester's clean and well executed run over those three jumps and two rail sections which got him the 94.60 in the second run of the two run, best one counts final.

Finishing third, Braaten defended his World Cup lead (165) against Wester (165) due to the better tie score.

Jennie-Lee Burmansson was able to extend her lead (240) on Giulia Tanno (SUI; 130) who didn't start in Font Romeu.

The FIS Freeski World Cup tour will now take a break until next year when skiers meet again in Snowmass, USA for one halfpipe and one slopestyle event slated to take place from January 10 to 13.
