Bakuriani 2023 World Championships slopestyle course preview revealed

Today we’re ready to reveal the renderings for the slopestyle course at the Bakuriani 2022/23 FIS Freestyle, Snowboard and Freeski World Championships, designed and constructed by the world-renowned crew at Schneestern.

The Bakuriani 2023 course will be composed of six sections, leading off with a multifaceted rail section, into the first jump section featuring a large and medium kicker, then the second jump with either a straight-off or side-hit “shark-fin” options for takeoff, then onto the third and biggest jump of the course - which will also function as the big air venue for the World Champs.

After the big air feature it’s into the fifth section, compromised of side-by-side launch rails, before finally finishing up at the course’s most technical section - a skateboard park-inspired multi jib feature that should test the creativity of the world’s best freeskiers and snowboarders alike.

With colder temperatures and fresh snow at Bakuriani’s Kokhta venue in recent weeks, along with a massive snowmaking effort from the organiser, the Schneestern crew has the materials necessary to construct a world-class slopestyle course, and they’ve been hard at work doing just that over the past few days.

With one of the world’s leaders in snowpark innovation on the job in Schneestern, and the diligent efforts of the Bakuriani 2023 organisers to provide all the support necessary for the construction of what should be one of the standout venues at these World Championships, we expect that, come time for freeski and snowboard competition in Georgia, the women and men  of slopestyle will have one of the season’s best courses on which to show their stuff.
