US freeski veteran Devin Logan announced last week that she will be hanging up the bib and retiring from competitive skiing after a hugely successful, history-making career that included Olympic, World Championships and X Games medals, as well as 14 World Cup podiums - including three victories.

Logan announced herself to the freeski world in a big way when she took back-to-back second places finishes behind the late, great Sarah Burke (CAN) at the first two halfpipe World Cups of her career back in 2010/11.

The halfpipe/slopestyle double threat would then make the biggest splash of her career three years later at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, where Logan claimed a historic silver medal at the first-ever Olympic freeski slopestyle competition.

Two years later Logan would again make history, becoming the first freeskier to claim the FIS Freestyle overall crystal globe - topping the best of all the moguls, aerials, ski cross, halfpipe, slopestyle and big air athletes to take the biggest trophy of them all for individual World Cup performance.

In 2017 Logan would add to her impressive trophy case by taking bronze at both the Sierra Nevada 2017 FIS Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships, and at the X Games in Norway.

The last major podium of Logan's career would come the next season, when she claimed third on home soil at the Mammoth Mountain halfpipe World Cup.

“Thank you everyone who has played any part in my journey!” said Logan in an Instagram post announcing her retirment, “Can’t thank my family enough for the constant support, all the friends that have continuously had my back, coaches that have always pushed me to be very best, and teammates that have put up with me over all the years and sharing once in a life time experience with. All of my sponsors throughout the years, thank you for always believing in me and letting me represent your brand. Here’s to the next chapter. Cheers!”

We at FIS Freeski wish D-Lo all the best for her future endeavours.
