France’s Tess Ledeux has marked her return to the 2024/25 FIS Freeski World Cup tour with a 17th career win in Aspen as U.S. skier Alex Hall took the top spot in men’s slopestyle on home snow.

Twenty-three-year-old Ledeux proved some time away can go a long way after winning the women’s slopestyle event on Saturday in the U.S. Grand Prix in Aspen (USA) with a score of 88.06 points.

Second place went to Canada’s Megan Oldham, who posted a second run score of 86.93, while local skier Rell Harwood (USA) rounded up the podium in 77.53 points.

Ledeux’s win on Saturday comes a week after the French skier claimed slopestyle gold at the 2025 X Games in Aspen, as well as bronze in big air.

The U.S. Grand Prix marks the first World Cup stop for Ledeux after she took a break from the 2024/25 FIS Freeski World Cup season following her big air victory in Beijing in December.

I’m just so happy. I feel really confident on this course and I’m just happy (because) I missed some World Cups at the beginning of January to rest, and I think I made a good choice.Tess Ledeux (FRA)

“Honestly I really think I made a good choice and I’m really happy with my skiing today.”

Ledeux was the top qualifier going into Saturday’s final and took an early lead with her first run score featuring a left double cork 1260 mute that no other skier was able to beat.

Ledeux’s slopestyle win on Saturday is her third consecutive victory of the season and her 17th World Cup career victory since 2017.

For Oldham, her second place finish behind Ledeux is her second consecutive second place result after Oldham was runner-up to overall women’s Park & Pipe standings leader Eileen Gu (CHN) at the Laax Open in January.

Harwood’s third place marks the 23-year-old’s first World Cup career podium.

On the men’s side, it was a one-two finish for Team USA with Alex Hall in first place and Colby Stevenson in second.

Like Ledeux, Hall took an early lead in the final with a first run score of 88.21. Stevenson, who won the slopestyle season opener in Stubai (AUT) in November, looked set to overtake Hall in the second and final run on Saturday but ultimately finished in second place on 87.15 points.

Reigning slopestyle World Champion Birk Ruud (NOR), who topped the men’s podium at the Laax Open in January, finished third with 85.10 points.

For Hall, his winning performance featuring a super technical rail line and his last hit switch left double cork 1800 safety comes a week after he did not progress past the preliminary round in the 2025 X Games.

It was a pretty risky run for myself, especially rails, (I was) taking a lot of risks. So it just felt good to put it down and be up there with the boys.Alex Hall (USA)

“I was feeling a little slow this morning with the early morning and it was a little icy. But the sun came out at the end here and I was just stoked to lay down that run, it was the only time I got it," said Hall.

The 26-year-old said finishing on top of the podium among such a talented field on home soil gave his victory even more significance.

“That last one Colby did was incredible, I knew it was going to be really close and he definitely could have bumped me,” he said.

While Stevenson finished second on Saturday, the 27-year-old currently leads the men’s slopestyle World Cup standings on 209 points, while Ruud sits in second place on 200 points.

With two slopestyle victories to her credit, Ledeux leads the women’s slopestyle World Cup standings on 200 points, with Oldham trailing her on 189 points.

The next and fourth slopestyle stop on the 2024/25 FIS Freeski World Cup season will take place in Stoneham (CAN) between 20 and 22 February.
