Nov 23, 2019·FreestyleTop athletes on hand in Idre for the FIS Open competition Just two weeks before the FIS Freestyle Ski Moguls World Cup will kick into right gear on December 7 in Ruka (FIN), this weekend (Nov 23-24) Idre Fjaell will host the FIS Open competition with more than 140 athletes ready to drop in for back-to-back competitions on Saturday and Sunday.
Athletes’ field for the first moguls action of the 2019/20 on the Northern Hemisphere is probably one of the biggest we’ve ever seen in moguls competition. The organisers are expecting more than 40 women and 90 men representing 16 different nations to compete this weekend is Sweden.
Many national teams have been training on course in Idre since October 20 and this week we will have a very first chance to see world’s best athletes competing on a brand new World Cup course that will host the final event of the season on March 13-15. With the likes of Perrine Laffont (FRA), Jaelin Kauf (USA), Hinako Tomitaka (JPN) and Laura Grasemann (GER) on the women’s side as well as Ikuma Horishima (JPN), Benjamin Cavet (FRA), Walter Wallberg (SWE) and Oskar Elofsson (SWE) ready to give their best in men’s competition, this weekend’s action in Idre could provide us with a little teaser on what to expect from the 2019/20 moguls World Cup season.
On both competition days the qualifications will kick off in the morning at 9:50, while the finals are set to go at 16:20 local time.
