Enjoy the classic 2009 Moscow Aerials World Cup event in full length

The fans have chosen again and in the final instalment of our #ClassicsLive series we’ll be throwing it back to 2008/2009 FIS Freestyle Ski Aerials World Cup season’s grand finale at the iconic scaffold ramp right in front of the Moscow’s State University.

There in the women’s event the Chinese aerials legend Xu Mengtao claimed her maiden World Cup victory, while the Australia’s Lydia Lassila wrapped up the season atop the overall ranking and took home her first and only aerials crystal globe.

On the men’s side of the event it was the US athlete Ryan St. Onge, who walked away victorious at the end of the evening. Meanwhile in the overall aerials World Cup ranking the Canadian Steve Omischl, who ended up taking the top spot and claiming his third straight (and his career’s fourth) crystal globe to cap off the season in style.
