Despite the unpredictable New England weather, which ranged from rain to heavy snowfall, Friday's moguls event at Waterville, the birthplace of modern freestyle skiing, was electrifying. Jakara Anthony and Ikuma Horishima, undeterred by the wet conditions, triumphed, further solidifying their leads in the moguls World Cup standings.

In the women's event, Australian mogul sensation Jakara Anthony led from start to finish. Her commanding performance in the big final, scoring 10 points above her closest competitor, earned her an impressive seventh consecutive victory and ninth overall this season. Moreover, she secured the coveted singles moguls World Cup title. With a perfect score of 600 points from six competitions and her closest rival, Jaelin Kauf (USA), trailing at 370 points, Anthony is set to be crowned the moguls World Cup champion at the season's final competition in Almaty. Her season so far has been nothing short of phenomenal.

Jaelin Kauf clinched second place, marking her sixth top-3 finish this season, while Hannah Soar (USA) completed the podium in third place. This result highlights another strong showing for the US women’s team, which has now secured 15 of the 30 top-3 finishes in this World Cup campaign.

On the men's side, Japan's Ikuma Horishima, clad in the World Cup leader's yellow bib, delivered a clutch performance. His flawless run in the big final earned him his third win of the season and extended his lead over Mikael Kingsbury to 50 points. With only two single events remaining this season, the battle for the crystal globe between Horishima and Kingsbury is intensifying.

Australian Cooper Woods made a significant breakthrough, achieving his first World Cup win, marking the best day of his skiing career.

Mikael Kingsbury (CAN) finished in third place, a somewhat disappointing result for the mogul skiing legend. However, he remains a strong contender for the moguls crystal globe. Kingsbury, known for thriving under pressure, ensures that the fight for the World Cup is far from over.

The moguls action in Waterville continues on Saturday, promising to be highly entertaining with dual moguls on the schedule and sunshine in the forecast. The preliminary rounds are set to begin at 10:35 EST, with the finals again scheduled for 14:00. As the competition heats up, the stage is set for another day of thrilling mogul skiing.
