Excitement peaks as Idre Fjäll hosts FIS Freestyle World Cup showdown

The FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup tour is all set for an exhilarating weekend at Idre Fjäll, Sweden, following a vibrant start to the 2023/24 season in Ruka. This Friday and Saturday, December 8-9, the tour brings the excitement of moguls and dual moguls competitions to the Swedish slopes, continuing a tradition that has become a staple in the world of freestyle skiing.

For the fifth consecutive year, the moguls World Cup makes its much-anticipated return to Sweden, a nation with a rich freestyle skiing heritage that dates back to 1984. Idre Fjäll, already a renowned stop on the FIS Ski Cross World Cup circuit, is primed to elevate its status with yet another major event this weekend. Fans can look forward to an action-packed freestyle extravaganza, featuring skiers navigating challenging bumps and executing spectacular jumps.

The venue at Idre has been operational since mid-October, serving as a pre-season training hub for numerous national teams. With the competition season in full swing, the resort is set to host a pivotal weekend where athletes will vie for coveted World Cup points amidst expected high-level performances.

This year, Idre Fjäll has enhanced the excitement by relocating its World Cup course to a new venue, boasting an impressive length of over 235 meters. This significant upgrade promises to add an extra layer of challenge and spectacle to the competitions.

The action kicks off on Thursday with the women's qualifiers at 13:00 CET, followed by an early start on Friday with the men's qualifiers at 10:00. The single moguls finals are scheduled to begin at 13:00. Saturday brings the first dual moguls of the season, starting with preliminary rounds at 9:30 and culminating in the finals at 12:30.
