In a striking change of scenery, Swiss-Ski aerials champion Pirmin Werner recently traded snow for the gym floor. Werner, who finished the 2022/23 World Cup season in a third place overall, showcased his gymnastic prowess on the track and vault at the Zurich Cantonal Gymnastics Festival as part of the TV Henggart team, a nostalgic nod to his gymnastic roots, a common origin story among many aerial skiers.

The KTF Wyland 2023 event found itself in the spotlight, hosting a guest of honor - the esteemed World Cup aerialist, Pirmin Werner, who transitioned his high-flying moves from frosty inclines to a temperate, level platform.

The 2022 Olympics' fourth-place finisher began his athletic journey in gymnastics. Transitioning to aerial skiing merely required him to "get used to ski boots and skis," he explains. Werner still maintains his ties with TV Henggart, keeping one foot firmly planted in his original sport.

The video embedded below illustrates the typical transition from gymnastics to aerials and offers a glimpse into how to execute flips and twists on snow. Enjoy :)
