With an extensive agenda, the session covered various reports from the 2022/23 season, proposals from the FIS Technical Committees, and rule updates, among other crucial topics. However, the announcement that sparked tremendous excitement within the freestyle community worldwide was the approval of the calendars for the highly anticipated 2023/24 World Cup campaign.
Let's dive right into the upcoming 2023/24 FIS Freestyle Moguls & Aerials World Cup calendar, which promises a thrilling lineup of events that will push athletes to their limits and captivate audiences around the world. From heart-stopping moguls runs to awe-inspiring aerial displays, each competition guarantees a spectacle of athleticism and precision that will keep fans on the edge of their seats.
Athletes from all corners of the globe will converge at iconic venues throughout the season, ready to showcase their skills and creativity. From the majestic peaks of the Alps to the snow-covered slopes of North America, expect an unforgettable display of freestyle skiing mastery.
The 2023/24 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup season will kick off for the 14th consecutive time in Ruka, Finland, with moguls and aerials competitions taking place on December 2-3. Next, Sweden will host both moguls and dual moguls events at Idre Fjall on December 8-9. Meanwhile, in Alpe d'Huez, France, moguls and dual moguls showcases are scheduled for December 15-16, coinciding with the aerialists' competition in Changchun, China, marking the first event on Chinese soil since the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, with aerials and aerials mixed team competitions on December 16-17. The final competition in December will be held in Bakuriani, Georgia, following the successful 2023 World Championships, featuring moguls and dual moguls events on December 22-23.
After the holiday break, the tour will move to North America, starting with Val St Come, Canada, hosting moguls and dual moguls competitions on January 19-20. Waterville, USA, will then host back-to-back moguls and dual moguls events at their brand new World Cup venue on January 26-27, while Relais, Canada, will welcome back aerials and aerials mixed team events on January 27-28. The action-packed stretch in January and February will conclude with the annual freestyle bonanza at Deer Valley, USA, featuring aerials, moguls, and dual moguls from February 1-3.
March brings the final leg of the season, starting with the venue of the 2021 World Championships at Almaty's Shymbulak resort in Kazakhstan with aerials, moguls, and dual moguls competitions on March 8-10. Finally, the season will culminate in Chiesa in Valmalenco, Italy, with the final dual moguls event on March 16.
