Shen and Raimkulov shine bright to claim gold in Aerials at Junior Worlds in Almaty
Jan 10, 2025·FreestyleBeautiful weather and exceptional jumps set the stage as the individual Aerials competition went down at the 2025 FIS Freestyle Junior World Championships, held at Almaty’s Shymbulak Mountain Resort. The event featured some of the world’s top junior athletes delivering a spectacular showcase of skill and precision.
In the women’s event, it was a battle of back Full-Fulls in the super final, as all four Chinese athletes went head-to-head. In the end, Haohao Shen stood out with the cleanest run, earning a score of 83.16 points and claiming gold in her very first international appearance. Shen led a podium sweep for Team China in an extraordinary debut performance.
Qixian Wang took home silver with a score of 80.95 points, while Xue Wang secured the bronze medal with 77.80 points, completing China’s dominance in the women’s competition.
On the men’s side, it was a special moment for the home crowd as Dinmukhammed Raimkulov delivered a stunning double Full-double Full to win gold with a score of 104.01. Performing under the cheers of his family and friends in Almaty, Raimkulov showcased both skill and composure to take the title on home soil.
Yuheng Yang of China earned silver with a double Full-double Full and a score of 101.79, while his teammate Zhicheng Yang claimed bronze with a double Full-Full scoring 94.82.
It was an outstanding day for Team China, who secured five of the six available medals in the individual competition, firmly establishing themselves as the team to beat ahead of the mixed team event.
