FIS centenary celebration: a night of memories, music, and milestones
May 09, 2024·Inside FISThe festivities around the 100th anniversary of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation culminated this Tuesday with a historic evening in Portorož, Slovenia. The traditional FIS Technical Committee Spring Meetings served as the perfect occasion to bring together the entire ski and snowboard community for an unforgettable night of memories and celebration.
Beautifully organized by the FIS Events team within what once was a salt warehouse, the FIS 100 Party provided the almost 700 guests with delicious local food and a slate of ski and snowboard-themed attractions: from mountain gondola lifts acting as lounge areas to a live concert by “Masters of Disaster”, a rock band formed by none other than skiing legends Ivica Kostelić (CRO) and Jan Hudec (CAN).
FIS President Johan Eliasch welcomed the guests alongside Secretary General Michel Vion.
Over the course of the year, FIS has been paying homage to its 100 years of history in many ways and across different platforms, including the incredible video series “FIS 100 - For the love of snow sports since 1924”.
