Slopestyle and Big Air Snowboarding Development Camp in Kopaonik (SRB)
Mar 06, 2024·Inside FISIn a remarkable showcase of talent and camaraderie, the Ski association of Serbia in cooperation with SES (Small evolving Ski nations) and FIS recently hosted a successful Development Camp for Slopestyle and Big Air Snowboarding in the scenic landscapes of Kopaonik, Serbia. Attended by coaches and athletes from various nations including Lithuania, Greece, Lebanon, Georgia, Macedonia, and the host country Serbia, the camp proved to be a melting pot of ambition and enthusiasm for the sport.
One of the most notable aspects of this event was the equal representation of both genders, with almost 50 girls and boys participating and coaching. This inclusivity underscored the commitment of the snowboarding community to foster gender equality within the sport.
Spanning from February 25th to the culmination in the FIS Big Air and Slopestyle competitions on February 29th and March 1st respectively, the camp provided a platform for athletes and coaches to hone their skills under the guidance of the Belgian coach and athlete Joewen Frijns.
The athletes who participated in the camp showcased exceptional performance during the competitions, further highlighting the efficacy of the training they received. Their outstanding results served as a fitting conclusion to the intensive training period, adding an extra layer of triumph to the event.
The camp's location amidst the breathtaking scenery of Kopaonik provided a picturesque backdrop for the athletes to train and compete, further enhancing the overall experience.
