Andorra and the 2029 World Ski Championships Candidate Organizing Committee (LOC) hosted the second FIS Development Alpine activities, featuring the new format that includes "Free Training Days" to enhance the appeal of the programme for both WSC Candidates and Developing NSAs.

This innovative approach expanded the diversity of FIS Development activities while simultaneously providing a more structured experience for participating NSAs. Andorra welcomed a group of 14 athletes from 9 NSAs. The first phase of the FIS Development Alpine activities concluded in Andorra, with the second training activities scheduled for March 2024.

The hospitality, collaboration, and support from the 2029 WSC Candidate LOC, led by Santi López, were exceptional throughout the development camp. All technical requirements were met, enabling athletes and teams to conduct comprehensive training sessions and enhance their skills.

Morning on-snow sessions were followed by afternoon off-snow sessions, including dryland training and video analysis. These sessions were delivered without any delays, and additional special sessions were conducted based on athletes' technical advisory requests.

The implementation of "Free Training Days" has proven to be a resounding success, and the FIS Development department will continue to work closely with WSC Candidates and selected WSC organizers to provide more scheduled training opportunities for developing NSAs.

Overall, the FIS Development Alpine activities in Andorra were a resounding success, showcasing the effectiveness of the new format and the dedication of the LOC and its partners to fostering the development of up-and-coming alpine skiers worldwide.
